1. alkyl benzene react wity HNO3 (conc. H2SO4, 50°C, reflux)

C6H5- ini ialah benzene ring yg kita panggil phenyl

Cl hanya tambah pada sidechain -CH3 sahaja

3. alkyl benzene react with Cl2 presence of catalyst AlCl3.

alkyl benzene + Cl2 (AlCl3) –> ortho-chloromethylbenzene +  para-chloromethylbenzene.
